Expanded Duty Dental Assistants (EDDAs) The Louisiana State Board of Dentistry does not regulate dental assistants. The Board issues certificate confirmations for Expanded Duty Dental Assistants (EDDAs). All applicants for an EDDA certificate confirmation must complete an approved Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Course, an accepted BLS course, and an approved radiology course. You may apply for the EDDA certificate confirmation by submitting the EDDA application, a copy of your proof of completion of the EDDA course, BLS course, and radiology course along with the application fee of $100 to the Board office.
